450 chickens for Raek
A while ago, we asked for your help; the coffee farmers who produce our popular Spicy Sara coffee were severely affected by the war in Congo. In early 2025, this war escalated into one of the world's largest humanitarian crises.
Thanks to your support, we were able to turn a small idea into a big difference. What began as a cry for help from eastern Congo became reality: dozens of farming families received laying hens that provide food, income and hope.
Our first IWCA coffee
Since this year, Sarah has been a member of the board of IWCA Germany. IWCA, or International Women's Coffee Alliance, aims to bring women in the coffee chain together to share their stories and become stronger together.
Our very first (limited availability) IWCA coffee came from Mujeres Ixil, a collective of 45 women who have been joining forces for five years. This year, they joined IWCA Guatemala. This gives them a voice and a label that allows them to market their coffee more effectively. Next year, we will launch a new IWCA collaboration: grown by women, roasted by women.
3 origin trips
This year, roaster Sarah visited three coffee-producing countries: Peru, Colombia and Ethiopia. In Peru, she got to know the people and processes behind our future Peruvian coffee at Finca Churupampa, with a strong focus on quality and sustainability. In Colombia, she met Sara Gutiérrez, a passionate coffee producer who is the fifth generation to follow her own path within the family business. Ethiopia took her to the origins of our Fruity Franny and gave her a clear picture of the people and origins behind this coffee. These three trips had one important thing in common: people who grow coffee with heart and soul.
Coming up: zomerbar
Onze branderij, jullie plek
Sisters' surprise subscription
This subscription was launched this year at the request of many fans. With the Sisters' Surprise subscription, roasters Sarah & Lieze will surprise you six times a year with a unique coffee outside the regular range. Each edition is a new discovery: a different origin, a special collaboration or a flavour that caught their attention along the way. Always available in limited quantities, but you are guaranteed your share!
Collaboration with Belgian Cycling
Good news for those who love cycling and coffee: Belgian Cycling and Ray & Jules are joining forces. Since this autumn, the national cycling teams have been fuelled by sustainable coffee during training sessions and events. The Belgian cyclo-cross riders had the honour of being the first to test the coffee at the European Championships. And with success! The men produced the European champion, while the leading woman secured a place in the top 10.
Branderij in beweging
Coming up: in 2026 delen we onze branderij nog meer met
jullie, onder andere met een zomerbar tijdens de vakantie. Intussen ben je
altijd welkom.
Stap binnen, proef mee en ontdek hoe we elke dag werken aan
lekkere, eerlijk verhandelde koffie. Tijdens een rondleiding nemen Sarah of
Lieze je graag mee achter de schermen — inclusief degustatie.
