Big Ray: Our great new pride
Our original roaster La Bomba was bursting at the seams, so it was time for reinforcement. Enter Big Ray, our brand new coffee roaster. Installed and tested early this year, and we have been running at full capacity ever since. We can now also experiment with new roasting techniques to win over other coffee roasters. Those who have already tasted the new dark roast know what we mean.
Atypical Dark Roast
With our new roaster we dared: a true Italian Style dark roast. Roasted faster, at higher temperatures, and still brimming with flavor. A first for us, but one we are proud of. Perfect for espresso lovers who like a strong cup with character. Not a coffee for sissies!
Hand in hand with the farmers
For us, coffee is much more than beans. It is about people. This year we strengthened our direct partnerships with farmers, deciding and building a sustainable future together. For example, Sarah went to Honduras, Guatemala and Nicaragua. You can find her travel reports on our blog. Certificates are nice, but we make real impact through personal contact and real cooperation.
our atelier: Bigger than ever
We have remodeled and expanded considerably. Green beans, and boxes now have their own spacious space. Big Ray is showing off in the old warehouse, while our former roasting room is being transformed into a state-of-the-art workshop. With larger silos, an automatic weighing machine and lots of new standard quality controls, we are ready for the future. Soon you can come visit our workshop!

2024 was also the year we launched our very first “Sunny Person” video. Elise, aka Wild & Bloem, talks about her passion for nature and art. Her story perfectly shows how our mission - to bring sun and coffee together - inspires people. Elise makes the world a little more beautiful, just like a good cup of coffee does.

After more than a year of designing, testing and fine-tuning, we have finally launched our new packaging. Durable, pretty and completely tuned to your feedback.
