1 TON OF CHRISTMAS COFFEE
After the success of Birthday Blend, we launched 'Christmas Coffee' for the holidays. And it was a hit - also with our team! I n December we roasted no less than 1 ton of green beans - good for 2,000 bags .
THE BIG NEWS
Finally we were allowed to shout it from the solar panel roofs: in the news you saw how Beyers announced the construction of an electric roaster with Ray & Jules technology. Partly thanks to you, our loyal customers, they believed in our story.
THE FIRST ROBUSTA
For the first time you found a 100% robusta from Rwanda in the Sisters' Surprise range. Robusta is seen as lower quality than Arabica, but climate change threatens the latter. That is why more and more attention is being paid to robusta , which, when grown with care, also has a lot of potential.
PEACEFUL PENNY
We gave Armistice Day extra meaning this year with Peaceful Penny. Many of you added Penny to your order and donated 1 euro . We doubled the total amount and were able to donate 1,004 euros to WFP – good for more than 2,100 meals for hungry people in Gaza.
CLOSER COLLABORATIONS
Brander Sarah visited Brazil in the summer, where she was able to speak to Brilliant Ben's farmers in person . For Fruity Franny we entered into a closer collaboration through This Side Up. We are also busy deepening our contacts with Powerful Peter and Spicy Sara.
Team
Lieze left us for a few months to be with her newborn daughter, sweet Zaia is now six months old and Lieze is back to work. In addition, our team was strengthened with Eliot & Tania.
LA BOMBA 2.0
Our roastery in Hamme-Mille is bursting at the seams. Behind the scenes, engineers have been working on a larger roaster for some time, which will be installed and tested in early 2024 . Normally you won't notice this, luckily we do!
