Impact: yet to come

This coffee from the Sidamo region is one not to be missed because of its rich palette of flavors. Unfortunately, we have not yet been able to work out any direct partnerships for this coffee. We opted for the quality of the coffee here. The impact story of this is the next step we will work on.

About coffee from Ethiopia

In Ethiopia, there are three major famous coffee regions; Harrar, Yirgacheffe and Sidamo. The Sidamo region is named after the indigenous ethnic group, the Sidama, who call the region their home and they speak the Sidaamu Aafo language.

Sidamo is located in the "Great Rift Valley," a vast valley with volcanoes and freshwater lakes. The latter also provide drinking and agricultural water for the population. The mountains, vegetation, abundant rainfall and fertile soil make the coffee in this region so special.

Ethiopian coffees are renowned for their very diverse flavors; from citrus, bergamot and floral notes to dried and tropical fruits. The washed coffees are often very complex and delicate while the "naturally processed" coffees can often be very "funky" and surprisingly fruity.

Heerlijk zachte smaak
